Description: FREE ALZHEIMER SUPPORT IS JUST A PHONE CALL AWAY
For many people dealing with the challenges of memory loss or Alzheimers disease, support groups provide a valuable link to others sharing their journey. Yet, as helpful and supportive these groups may be, many people have difficulties making it to meetings. Whether its due to the difficulty or expense of securing temporary help caring for their loved ones, time constraints due to work or other family obligations, or the challenge of area traffic, many caregivers are forced to give up this benefit.
To help provide the caregivers in our region with support and education, the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area Chapter is offering telephone discussion groups, called Tuesday Telephone Talks, every week from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. and again from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Each week, discussions focus on topics such as evaluating assisted living facilities, managing caregiver stress, or assessing local adult day center or home care options.
Each Tuesday Telephone Talk is moderated by a skilled group facilitator and is open to anyone free of charge. Please join in the discussion by calling 888.262.0101.
For more information, or more details on upcoming discussion topics, please contact the Alzheimers Association at 800.272.3900 or www.alz.org/nca.
